2024 Lambing Events

February 2024

Due to family health issues we won't be running any lambing events over Easter 2024. We hope to offer a full lambing events programme again in spring 2025.

‘Lambing Apprentice’

Join the Broom House lambing team for an afternoon shift, caring for the pregnant ewes and newborn lambs, helping with all of the routine tasks in the lambing shed including:

  • care of newborn lambs
  • orphan lamb bottle feeding
  • providing feed water and hay in the lambing pens
  • mucking out

Availability is limited to a maximum of two apprentices per shift, ensuring full participation and supervision.

Afternoon sessions run from 2pm to 4pm (2 hours).

Lambing Apprentice is not suitable for pregnant women.

Please wear warm clothing or overalls and footwear suitable for a farmyard.

Toilets and hand washing facilities are available at the farm (all visitors must wash their hands before leaving the farm)

Visitors are asked not to eat, drink or smoke on during their time on the farm

Wheelchair users are welcome and part of the farm yard is wheelchair accessible. Please contact Ian on 07469 203088 before booking to discuss your requirements.

No dogs are allowed in the farmyard at lambing time

Lambing Apprentice participants are asked to come straight to the farm for a prompt start at 2pm.

Lambing Shed Live
Dates Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to offer lambing events in 2021.
Tours run between 2pm and 4pm
Prices £35 per person per session.

Pre-booking is required. A maximum of two apprentices can book per shift. Minimum age 10 years (children 10 -16 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult).

We advise booking and making payment using our web based booking system. Please note that we cannot accept card payments at the farm, so we can only take payment by cash or cheque if paying on the day. Charges include VAT.
